What is the Confederation
The Confederation of Funds for Cooperation and Solidarity
is a framework for coordination and joint representation of the
several Funds for Cooperation and Solidarity existing in Spain,
on all those matters which, due to their importance, affect their
common interests.
Objectives
The Confederation's own tasks fit into the following
objectives:
- To contribute to boost decentralized cooperation
inside and outside its members' territorial scopes, besides favouring
their structuring into networks.
- To become a stable and common speaker before the
Spanish government, European, and international institutions with
coinciding approaches.
- To consolidate coordinated working and managing
tools to accomplish a mutual learning and the setting of common
criteria for the projects' analysis, assessment, control, and
monitoring.
- To promote shared public awareness projects.
Origins
The Confederation of Funds was created on 19th September
1995, as a result of the wide approach coincidence amongst the several
Funds for Cooperation - in spite of their origin diversity-, in
order to gather the legally constituted Funds and to take over their
joint representation, always respecting each member organisation's
own identity and independence.
Its founding members are the Fons Català de
Cooperació al Desenvolupament, Euskal Fondoa, the Fons Valencià
per la Solidaritat, the Fons Mallorquí de Solidaritat i Cooperació,
and the Fons Menorquí de Cooperació.
